Nueva Palmira

Where the Paraguay River meets the River of Silver (Rio de la Plata), the widest river in the world, you will find the two quiet villages of Nueva Palmira and Carmelo. Surrounded by pristine woodlands and expansive savannah, located only a few miles east of Argentina’s Paraná River Delta, the region has developed into a yachting/boating and outdoor activity center for the residents of Montevideo and Buenos Aires. Activities such as horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing, fishing and cycling have recently been enhanced with the arrival of a new 18-hole Championship golf course at the Four Seasons Resort Carmelo as well as a casino. The surrounding area also offers access to historical Estancias (ranches) dating back to the early 19th-century and produces some excellent local wines.
